Classic Control Center Vs New Control Center

Cflow has changed the look and feel of the control center to bring an enhanced user experience. Here is an overview of Classic Control Center Vs New Control Center.

Workflows:

  • In the classic control center, workflows are represented in rows. All the features are displayed by an icon. You would have configured the settings corresponding to the workflow by clicking the icon in a workflow.

  • You would have configured the status of the workflow to active/inactive(deleted) from workflow properties.

How does the new control center look? – Workflows

  • In the new control center, workflows are represented in cards. Click on the edit icon in a workflow to explore the features of Cflow and configure the workflow settings. All the features are listed by their names and it is easy to identify them.

  • You can configure the status of the workflow to active/deleted directly from the Control Center.

The static menu design helps you to navigate easily between the menus. You can easily navigate from one menu to another menu on single click.

Lookups:

  • In the classic control center, lookups are represented in rows. Lookups are displayed just below the workflows in the Control Center.

How does the new control center look? – Lookups

  • In the new control center, lookups are represented in cards. Click on the edit icon in a lookup to configure the lookup settings.  Use the Form Designer in lookup when you want to add fields after the lookup is published. Use Excel import when you want to populate Lookup/Master Table with data. You can also configure rules to set field values, trigger a new request, send notifications via SMS and send notifications via email.
  • Turn on/off the toggle to set the lookup active/deleted.

Process Stages :

  • In the classic control center, Each workflow has a sequence of process stages and are represented in rows. You would have configured the settings corresponding to the process stage by clicking the icon in a process stage.

  • You would have configured the status of the process stage to active/inactive from Form Properties.

How does the new control center look? – Process Stages

  • In the new control center, click on the workflow stages you can see the flow of the workflow. Select the process stage or the pencil icon to configure the settings.

  • Click on the Workflow Stages -> Select the process stage -> Stage Properties -> You can turn on/off the toggle at the top right of the page to set the process stage to active/inactive.

Advantages of New Control Center – Process Stages:

  • In the classic control center, you would have defined the same condition every time by adding the new rule to perform multiple actions like move, set, trigger.
  •  You would have defined the same condition to send an email and SMS notifications from different screen.

  • In the new control center, you can define the same condition to perform multiple actions at the same time. You can perform the following actions such as Move, Set, Trigger, Email, SMS. You can also describe the purpose of the rule by specifying the rule name.

Advantages of New Control Center –  Rules:

Rules in the new control center will be more helpful when you have a common condition that can be applied to multiple actions. In such a case you can define a single condition to perform multiple actions in a rule. All the actions can be accessed and configured from one place.

Public Form:

  • In the classic control center, you would have configured the Public Form settings from the Workflow properties.

  • In the new control center, you can configure the Public Form settings directly from the menu.

  • In the classic control center, you would have configured the Escalation mail settings from the Form Properties -> Due In field.

  • In the new control center, you can configure the Escalation mails settings from Workflow Stages ->Process Stage ->Escalation.

Approver Fields:

In the classic control center, you would have configured the approver fields relevant to the stage from the Control Center ->Approval and Info Fields. Approved by, Approved date, Status and Comments are the most common approver fields. When there is a change in the Stage Name you can edit the approver fields name relevant to the Stage Name. You can also turn on/off the toggle Display In Grid to set the fields visible/invisible in the request list page.

How does the new control center look? – Approver Fields

In the new control center, you can configure the Approver Fields settings from Workflow Stages -> Process Stage -> Approver Fields. All the approver fields relevant to the stage name are categorized. You can configure the approver fields settings from any of the process stage.
